SSW Director Dr. Joan Blakey Weighs in on National Social Worker Shortage
Joan Blakey, PhD, professor in and director of the School of Social Work , was invited into the KSTP news studios this week, to offer her expert opinion on state and national social worker shortages. The segment (Dr. Blakey was the only guest) aired live on Wednesday, September 28, and can be viewed online, here.
Dr. Blakey came to the SSW this summer from the School of Social Work at Tulane University in New Orleans. There, she served as an associate dean of academic affairs and associate professor. In addition to being an alumna of the SSW, Dr. Blakey holds a PhD from the University of Chicago.
