The School of Social Work is mourning the loss of Professor Rosalie Kane, who died on May 5, 2020.

Kane was a world-renowned researcher in long-term care as well as in many other concerns facing older adults. Her work had influence throughout the world in developing, designing, and evaluating changes in policies and services that promote choices and full lives for aging adults.

A member of the Academy of Social Work and Social Welfare, she set the standard in quality for social work research on aging, and in the process influenced the work and careers of many, including students and faculty at the University of Minnesota.

The National Association of Social Workers (NASW) Foundation named her a Social Work Pioneer® last fall. The pioneer program recognizes individuals whose unique dedication, commitment, and determination have improved social and human conditions.

Funeral services will be hosted virtually by Adath Jeshurun Congregation on Friday, May 8, at 10:00 a.m. Go to hodroffepstein.com for the Zoom meeting link.
