Join the School of Social Work’s final Research Colloquium of the academic year on Wednesday, April 21st, 2021 from noon-1:00pm (CST) to hear Lisa Fedina and Ashley Jackson speak on the State of the Research on Police Violence: Implications for Social Work.
Lisa Fedina, PhD, MSW, is an Assistant Professor in the School of Social Work at the University of Michigan. Her research focuses on how social policy and structural factors perpetuate inequalities in violence and health, and improving systems-level (e.g., criminal justice, healthcare) responses to gender-based violence.
Ashley N. Jackson, MSW, is a Fulbright scholar and doctoral student in the Brown School of Social Work at Washington University in St. Louis. Her research focuses on historical and contemporary patterns of police violence, the effects of police contact on psychological well-being, and legal and racial socialization in communities of color.
