Biography

Dr. Choy-Brown's research interests are in community mental health services and implementation science. The overall goal of her research is to promote accessible and effective mental health care for people who experience a serious mental illness. Informed by over a decade of practice and supervisory experience, the primary focus of her research is identify and test methods to integrate interventions into routine public mental health care. In particular, her work focuses on clinical supervision as a strategy to implement and sustain high quality care. Her current projects span across mental health delivery settings, evidence-based practices, and research methods to characterize and measure supervision techniques and test their impact on improved implementation and individual outcomes. Findings from her projects will inform the development of supervision methods that yield routine anti-oppressive, recovery-oriented, and evidence-informed mental health service experiences.
