Malaika Eban

Malaika works at the Legal Rights Center, a non-profit public defense firm in Minneapolis. In her role as Director of Community Strategy, she leads community engagement related to legal system transformation.

    Courses taught: SW 8153: Social Work Practice Methods: Macro Practice, and SW 8551: Community Assessment and Intervention

    Education: B.S., Biology Education, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill; SW and MPP, University of Minnesota

      Malaika works at the Legal Rights Center, a non-profit public defense firm in Minneapolis. In her role as Director of Community Strategy, she leads community engagement related to legal system transformation. She works with with youth, families, and community members to bring to life a new vision for Minnesota's justice system, through policy advocacy, restorative practices programming, and community legal education.

      Her general interests are in working towards justice in our communities, as well as cat motherhood and plant/star magic.
