SSW PhD Student, Amy Dorman, Receives Women’s Philanthropic Leadership Circle Award

Amy Dorman, MPP, is a second-year PhD student in the School of Social Work. She’s one of two graduate recipients of the 2023 Women’s Philanthropic Leadership Circle award, and will be honored at the College of Education and Human Development, University of Minnesota, Celebration of Scholars Luncheon on April 12, 2023.

Amy’s research centers on intimate partner violence prevention policy, cross-sector collaboration, and organizational leadership. In December 2022, she was hired full time as a researcher at the Center for Advanced Studies in Child Welfare, where she conducts research and evaluation in partnership with community organizations, government agencies, and research centers across the nation.

Amy earned a Master of Public Policy degree from the Humphrey School of Public Affairs in 2021. Prior to attending graduate school, Amy worked as a professional singer, songwriter, and dance instructor in Los Angeles, CA.
