Fun Facts about the DirecTrack to Teaching Program:
-
CI 3901: Exploring the Teaching Profession 1, the first of two classes in the DirecTrack to Teaching sequence, is now open to any undergraduate student. Admission to the DirecTrack to Teaching Program is no longer a prerequisite to enroll.
-
Both CI 3901 and CI 3902: Exploring the Teaching Profession 2, offer undergraduate students experiences working in local schools, working with teachers and students. These experiences provide aspiring teachers with a chance to try out their teaching muscles, talk to veteran teachers, and reflect with other aspiring teachers about schools, kids, teaching, and learning.
-
Undergraduate students from any UMN college can join the DirecTrack to Teaching Program without leaving their home college. DirecTrack to Teaching is added to a student’s program to provide additional advising support from a teacher preparation lens. DirecTrack to Teaching students also get access to CEHD scholarships for aspiring teachers.
Fall registration opens soon, April 10th

The University of Minnesota campuses were built on the traditional homelands of the Dakota and Ojibwe, and scores of other Indigenous peoples who have walked on these lands from time immemorial. It is important to acknowledge the peoples on whose land we live, learn, and work as we seek to improve and strengthen our relations with our tribal nations. We also acknowledge that words are not enough. We must ensure that our institution provides support, resources, and programs that increase access to all aspects of higher education for our American Indian students, staff, faculty, and community members.
