Ceema Samimi receives a Vision Grant

Ceema Samimi has earned a Vision Grant from the Spencer Foundation for their involvement with Breaking Carceral Logics: Using Community Asset Mapping to Inform Alternatives to Punitive School Discipline in the Twin Cities.  In the wake of the George Floyd uprising, there has been a need to re-engage and share vision with Minneapolis Public Schools (MPS) and Saint Paul Public Schools (SPPS) in order to create a better restorative practice that involves everyone.  Seeing this opportunity, this project aims to support scholars, educators, and community members in identifying and leveraging existing community assets to develop restorative practices that reflect local strengths and aspirations.   Congratulations Ceema!
